I’ve finished editing Part 2 and am beginning all the “post production” tasks to make it ready for release. This includes adding transitions and overlays. The overlays will include keyboard callouts and highlights for interface elements, just like Part 1…
Kernon Dillon from blendernewbies.com was kind enough to stop by and offer some kind comments about Part 1. It was encouraging to hear some positive offerings from someone who has contributed quite a bit to Blender and its users. He brought up Blender 2.5 and pointed out that things were going to change with that version. I have no idea how much, so I’m going to see what I can find out before I charge ahead with hours and hours of tutorials. Either that, or I’ll just resign myself to redoing hours and hours of tutorials. After all, in one of Kernon’s latest posts, he mentions that’s exactly what he’s going to do.
I’ll give it some thought. I don’t really want to slow down too much, so maybe I can find a clever way to update the existing tutorials, how ever many that will be, after 2.5 comes out. Or maybe I’ll get busy with Tony Mullen’s book.
In any case, look for Blender Basics Part 2 this week sometime. It’ll be nice to have it done.

I thoroughly enjoyed the previous tutorial, and really look forward to this one. I think you should put together a tutorial on making quality tutorials.
Thank you so much,
Fred

Fred, welcome to Blender Underground, and you’re welcome.
I may just do that down the road, just to show how I go about it. I learned a few things in the process, and I wouldn’t mind putting it out there if it would inspire others to produce tutorials.
