Alexeieff,

Thanks for the feedback. Dope sheets might be a little beyond a basics series, and are definitely beyond my knowledge as of this moment. You might want to poke around the BlenderArtists forums and see if there are any good ideas there. They frequently deal with quite advanced topics.

However I'll take it under advisement. Welcome to Blender Underground!

I'd like to see Audio fleshed out in Blender; as it stands now, Audio
is a bit thin in Blender. Perhaps a tutorial on producing dope sheets
in Blender? After all, so far, the fastest and most efficient method
is still by hand. Any ideas?

I use it for a baseline since I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler and my modeling skills are rotten (Hint, Hint Apollos).

LOL! We'll get there, penix1. If I have my way Blender Underground will be doing Blender tutorials (and others) for quite a while.

I had MakeHuman for a while, I used it maybe 2 times. So I just did as you described. I exported one of the standard body types into Blender and uninstalled MakeHuman. I think what limits MakeHuman is that you can't control hair and there's no standard clothes library. It's just seems kind of weak for now.

YMMV==Your Millage May Vary...

I am the reverse as far as open-closed source is concerned. I have been in conversion hades for the past month trying to get things out of proprietary formats. That issue is for another day though...;-)

Anyway, MakeHuman, as a stand alone, is very limited (hence the YMMV) but once you create the basic form you simply export it to Blender where you have all the power. I use it for a baseline since I can't draw a straight line with a ruler and my modeling skills are rotten (Hint, Hint Apollos).

YMMV?

I think MakeHuman is interesting, but it is too limited in what you can do, in terms of creation. I think it's just an open-source version of Daz Studio.

btw, am I starting to sound cyncial because I keep bad-wording open-source software?

Actually, I'd like to see added something about MakeHuman. It is an interesting project and works nicely with Blender.

Note: The development of MakeHuman is still in process so YMMV.

I'm just saying, right now it is *too harsh*worthless. But the developers said they're rebuilding V3 from scratch, so as soon as it's out I'm testing it.

That's a good point, Dave. At some point I'm going to make a serious effort with it; and if it works well, I'll post something on it.

However, I'm not betting on a Jahshaka Underground web site, but you never know.

I'm like you, Apollos. I've actually tried Jahshaka and got absolutely nowhere with it. But, I tried Blender a few years back and had exactly the same experience. And look at Blender now. I have hope for Jahshaka. Including the hope that I'm spelling it right ;) it could become a great open source resource.
