If you’re interested in using MakeHuman to generate models for rigging in Blender, then Blender Underground’s chief specialist, Penix1, has something just for you. He has posted a detailed three part tutorial on how to make use of MakeHuman models in Blender. Part 1 of the series even begins with instructions on compiling the MakeHuman source in Linux.
Make Human to Blender Part 1
Make Human to Blender Part 2
Make Human to Blender Part 3
Come on in and have a look, it’s really quite well done. He’d appreciate any tips or feedback you have to offer as well. There is some mild, artistic nekkedness in some of the screenshots, so if you are bothered by such things, be ye warned. I tried it and i was pretty amazed. Your tutorial was very good. I have nothing to say about it except well done. I can’t believe how the transition from makehuman to blender is. And the quality is excellent. I was surprised to see there is actually a real skeleton inside the model( not for animation but a real one…).
even using join triangles doesn’t mess the mesh.
very cool.
Thx again!

Thank you for letting me know you did it and didn’t have problems. Yes, it does have a skeleton and I’ve been playing with it and the rigging. I figure come Halloween I should have a cool animation…

I wrote a python script that automates many of the steps in this tutorial. It can be found at http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=138337
