What's this sillyness about makeing straight lines?

It all goes back to this thread...

http://blenderunderground.com/2007/07/31/poll-more-tutorials/#more-25 where I was trying to push for MakeHuman to be listed in the poll and said:

Quote:
I use it for a baseline since I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler and my modeling skills are rotten (Hint, Hint Apollos).

That hint for Apollos was for the forthcoming tutorial (#3 I think) and got twisted into a tutorial for a straight line.

Isn't it awful how ones words can come back to haunt you...lol.

After some trial and error and much rendering time I present to you the Blender Underground Bar!

I admit I probably could have done a better job on the bar but I will just looking for something quick to put the glasses on. And before anyone says anything I know only one of the beer mugs has the logo, that one's mine.

Also had a wine bottle I was working on so I put it in as well. Its going to take me a while to get the proportions just right but I think I am pretty close. The shots may be a little small is all.

COYABBIT, you're so wonderful in those glasses and mugs creation, i really envy you because I'm a novice and illiterate concerning blending. Though Apollos and others gave me some links and advice on how to start but I'm still finding it very difficult. In fact I'm going through hell in learning this because I've followed many step by step examples on net but the middle everything [@#$%] up, i cannot complete the exercise. :D

But I've not given up and i will not because it was like a hell when i was learning how to play piano with music staff notation and chords, also translation of music staff notation into tonic sofa notation. So please i need more links for step by step mostly how you make those glasses and mugs. God bless

Mindcare,

Thanks for bringing this back from memory! This is definitely a very attractive scene, and a very slick interpretation of the Blender Underground logo. 8)

We miss Coyabbit around here! Hope all is well with him.

Nice glasses :D

This looks like the place where I can post something I had been working on:

http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=Pq1X7Xtr

The napkin is ready, all it misses is the texture, wich will be a scanned napkin with a girl's number (:
I havent done anything to the lighting yet.

Now.. The beer I'm not fully happy with, any thoughts?

I'm impressed with the ripples in the napkin.
Very nice job on the walls of the mug-- convincing beer distortions. Some caustics coming through on the handle side onto the bar would be really moody.
