These aren't rendered; they're just screenshots of the 3D window.

(Got the dark King and Queen backwards in these screenies. )

nice. Looks fancy

A few things I see is that the pawns seem rigged while the rest of the peaces are flowing.

Also the the knight looks awkward changing from sharp to rounded then back to sharp so quickly.

Of course these are design choices and their up to you on what you want them to look like, just merely an opinion that I feel like sharing.

Thanks for the input! I believe I know what you mean xChosen, and I had actually thought about that while making the set, I wanted the inside of the legs to be sharp, and the out-sides to be nice and smooth[er]. I guess I added two loop cuts along the side for something else, and then forgot about that. 1.5 hours go by very quickly in an SMC.

Wow, that is a very nice chess piece design. I really like the gold material too! Did you use some kind of environment mapping for it?
Pretty impressive work for 1.5 hours.

I love chess btw. :D

I too like the look, it would actually be a very nice thing to buy as decor if it were to be made in real life.

Great design there, you give the idea of the pieces without fancy detail.
Maybe you could get a set made by one of those 3d print shops.
Okay, maybe the pawns should be smoother.
:D

This came to my mind, too. Although I think, it would be expensive to print it in a reasonable size.
