Depends on which nodes you are trying to use. But Blenderguru.com has several tutorials which cover the uses of nodes. It might be worth checking some of them out. He also has an e-book called the wow factor for sale which covers nodes. It is supposed to be good, but as I can't afford to spend $40 on a book until I get a new job I haven't checked it out yet.

I would like to see a tutorial on just nodes and the basics of them. His tutorials when it comes to nodes go kinda fast and I am saying to myself wait! hold on! whats this connector do! whats this thing do!. You get the idea. A in depth on everything for the nodes would be nice to see. Video tutorial that is:)

Nodes are probably one of the least used and least understood features in Blender. I am just as guilty of it myself, I keep meaning to learn more about them but somehow just haven't gotten to it. They are very useful and very powerful though.
