For one, those other models you are talking about are limited in both use and functionality. In both cases, you are limited in what you can and cannot do with the textures and in the case of Poser/DAZ you are further limited in the mesh. Copyright is a bitch! The techniques and skill this modeler has is quite formidable. Did you read their goals? "Polygon Modeling Techniques with Focus on Topology: 100% quad polygon modeling. No sculpt, no triangles."

I have yet to do organic modeling where triangles weren't part of the mix. I also what to see what she does about poles. Both cases are stumbling points for me.

[EDIT]

And folks, this update is going to either wait until tomorrow or be REAL late tonight. Again, real life.

there are decent programs like Make Human and Daz 3D models for free?

I refuse to have a model that isnt created by myself. Not because I'm good but because it gives me more practice. Its like if I was to buy a oil painting and add something to it more. I just cant do it lol but I guess it all depends on what your doing.

Reasons to purchase this dvd:
  • Support the next blender project.
  • Learn how to make your own models. Even if you don't make your own, you'll be able to tweak others' models as needed.
  • Even if you already know how, observing an expert is always educational.

I think I myself might buy this once I get some pay.

That face loop image... I remember that from when I first started trying to model faces 6 years ago (no, I have not got six years practice :( ). It was actually good enough that I could get an acceptable result with no reference image.

I know. It is great. it will leave you with a good low poly head when you are done.

I have updated this tutorial again. I wish to apologize to everyone for the length of time it has taken. I had and continue to have extreme health issues. I will still be updating this as I am able. Enjoy.
