This can be moved. I wasnt sure where to put this.
Been talking to a Blender scripter by the name of "linuxgecko" at a IRC chat. He created a script for me.Might not be useful to most of you but I will be needing this:) it will speed up editing time for me. Not sure how to explain in words but I made 2 short videos on it and how to use it. Wondering what u guys think:)
Tutorial/example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2OAOJ6UbYw
Here is another example but using it with 2 objects: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tgML_xPphg

I am going to try and make a Operator for the script so you can just click a button to use it. Only thing is I know nothing about scripting really so might take some time lol.

It looks fine but I wonder how well it would work with more complex shapes.
Usually when I want to join meshes they are a lot more complicated than cubes and cylinders.

Very true. Complex shapes can turn out messed up. I still havnt tested it on anything complex that Ive been wanting to yet.
