I'm still learning about nodes, but so far for me I don't really like Blender version of nodes. I think it should be more intuitive and logical like mapzone or other node programs. Blender you have to use Blender materials controls and buttons combined with nodes so basically is not easier its harder to understand. Blender material nodes should be just nodes only not Blender plus nodes.

Maybe they will eventually switch the entire materials system to nodes.

That might be a good idea, actually. Right now they have two ways of doing things, and that seems rather confusing to me.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone's tried to export a UV map for painting in 2.5. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this! In 2.4x there was a script that did this, but I can't find anything like that in the UV window context. Anyone else tried this?

Not I.

And since 2.5 hasn't actually been released yet...I'm guessing information is going to be slim.

Ha, you guessed correctly. Been looking for 2 days and haven't found a damn thing. You'd think this functionality would be present since the Blender Foundation is using the 2.5 branch for Durian, and I know for a fact they've produced textured models / renders. Since it's a script I'm guessing there's a way to invoke it from the console within Blender, but I have no idea which one it is and what parameters it takes, ect.

Oh well, I guess I'll just start another project (modeling) and come back to this one when someone has figured this out.

You could always post a question in the comments section, next time the Durian blog puts out a model. It's worth a shot, I'd say.

Not so, not so! In fact, they are starting the builds...

Although it's definitely possible it might get pushed back farther...
