A Personal Challenge (not to be confused with the regular BU challenges)

Hello Blender Underground, due to The Man’s frequent sabotage attempts I’ve been unable to complete my mission and need your assistance. Some of you may recall the shield I worked on a few months back; viewtopic.php?t=1363 I plan to use it as the logo for my business I’m working on getting started but, due to computer troubles, workload at my job and lack of experience to get the quality I want I’ve decided to present its completion as a challenge for you with a 50$ prize.

The Mission: Create a mid-evil themed shield to fit the scrollwork provided and the text “Devonshire Gamesâ€

Hem...

Are we modeling this shield for devonshire or for you ?
...or for you than you send it to devonshire ?
...or for your then you send it to The Man ?

...and what the heck do you mean by "Scrollwork"

...and what is this thing you don't what us to change ??

....mmm...

I may use the following smiley to express my misunderstanding : :?

@Goliath;

It seems to me that he wants us to make the shield for his company, Devonshire Games.

The scrollwork is the awesome flameyness that is on his example and possibly shoulder, too.

I may give this a try. It's a good chance to bust out some materials skills that need work.

@Teagus; do you want the text ON the shield, or would behind/before it work, too?

Hum,

well.... I don't think it's very original... :?

...and I also think he should do the logo himself if
he plan to start an artist enterprise....

Still, I do want my own shield,
Thus, il try to enter the challenge,
...but il follow Goliath's own Rules & Scrollworks 8)

Nah, well, if he doesn't have the time, I think outsourcing is a good idea.

And you know, we have some very good artists on this site, so maybe he figured someone else would do better than he would. I mean, you'd want your business cards to look professional.

What kind of games does your company make? It would be a great aid to what will look cool and what would be retarded. You wouldn't want fluffy pink bunnies where barbwire should be.

lol well its not an artist enterprise or a game studio its a hobby shop/ gaming store im hoping to start up in the near future if i get the business grant im putting in for. the store will sell and provide a place to play, mini war games, card games and whatever else type of game i can stock and play in a store. the flamyness/scroll work is a tribal tattoo i have on my shoulder that i designed myself which is why i dont want it changed.

As for why im not doing it myself i played with it some but i dont have the time to devot to learning blender enough to produce what i want, and i know several of you are much much better then i am and could produce what im hoping to get much easier then i could with the limited time i spend playing with blender.

@PNG_pyro im thinking off to the right side, probably bottom right that way would look nice for the website and give room for phone number, address and any other stuff id want on a business card.

Goliath,
Have you ever seen Walt Disney's own work? It earned a living.
I'm really grateful he started hiring others, or I'd be stamping out airplane parts right now!

Outsourcing in the Internet Age is a multiplier. Best outcomes, Teagus.

personally i think that 300 high is too small for such an intracit design... i would tell you to change it but it might be abit hard to change the one on your arm too XD

might have a stab at this - but a word of caution before I/we begin regarding spec work:
work for free?
I'm sure it doesn't apply to you as we are all on-the-level here, but just something to bear in mind for future applications!

Here's mine;

It's sorta plain, but I didn't want to make it too fancy. If you would like it tweaked, feel free to ask.
