Heyo, here is challenge no. 5.
Fluid Stills...

You are challenged to create a still render. Not only any still render. You render MUST include a single frame of a fluid simulation.
This challenge gives you scope to think of anything...
Voting isnt just about quality remember, so try and do something UNIQUE with your entry.

Oh, and to start you off.

Your scene must include a Domain(the domain uses an objects bounds, so a cube is enough)
And a Fluid Object.

Here is an intro tutorial to get you started by the great JONATHAN WILLIAMSON over at BlenderCookie.

Getting Started
If you have any questions, this is the thread to ask them in.

Hint: Please, don't use any pre-made objects / renders. It just wouldn't be fair.
Hint: This thread is for discussion!

DEADLINE: Wednesday 25. August 2010 at 12:00PM (noon) GMT.

I might use this challenge as R&D for a shot I need in Fly Guy. If anyone can point me and the other fluid sim virgins to a good tutorial it would be most appreciated.

ah.. forgot to paste it into the top post... its there now..:P

and your reason for thinking of this is the exact reason i came up with the idea. Its a great tool when you get into it..( ive had about 2 hours playing so far) but its hardly ever used. The challenge is designed to get people to use a tool which is primarily used for animation simulations, and use it for other purposes. even something as simple as a rain drop in a still shot could work here...

Nice job Xchoosen,

cc : I'd play a little with the pose of the body to make it like he's propelled backward by the impact of the Terminator's shotgun.

That challenge was plenty of splash fun.

I wonder what's next.

I had to forfeit due to texturing issues in the yafaray exporter for Blender 2.5, apparently texturing doesn't yet work :/

But great job to those of you who finished :)
