... well after all my 8 hours rendering and all the errors and waiting... it wasn't even worth it because you tube butchered the effect to the point that you cant even see the fact that the glob is actually sticking together or the awsome texture / alpha i put on them. ... and it came out to slow and i forgot to hide the main glob so it just sits there ... it would look much better once i put the video behind it... I'm assuming that's the next challenge use your FX in a live action shot.... i might try agin if i have enought time and do something simpler that will turn out better.
heres the link - http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=_KrqpQLkSro

Allseeing...
I am clueless to why you're having difficulties - do you have Flash installed? Everyone else that we've sent the link to can see the page correctly, and everything validates good for xhtml, css & xml.

hamsterhill...
youtube certainly sucks for quality, which is why I'm attempting to host our videos on our own

ASE, AdBlock can be killing you. It may be treating the video as an advertisement. As a side note, it doesn't play in Konqueror either but does in Firefox (Linux) with adblock disabled.

that's what i thought to and disabled it, but it still wasn't showing. so, i tried a few things. i tried loading the player.swf url directly and that just loaded a blank movie panel with nothing to play. so then i looked at the playlist.xml and downloaded the .flv files and played them with vlc.

what i really enjoy is that people are coming at this challenge from all different kinds of angles and doing something unique.

I'll include direct links to the videos on the page as well (as a failsafe).

I also agree... lots of different ideas coming forth for this challenge.

Don't get me started.... :)

I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times. You have till the end of time to complete a challenge. The challenge is a challenge of your skills, not how fast you can churn something out.

True... :P However, you will see that I have extended the "deadline for voting"

Dan, I am going to use the power of the super sekrit Director proxy and give folks here another week (which started yesterday when the server came back up). The server downtime and all that entails has people sidetracked. It was down for four days after all.

Really cool effect Damascus!
Is there any projecting technique involved, like spot lamps?
Darth: Looks very interesting on the rotating Suzanne. Much more better. You have to tell me how you've made that laser scanning, please. ;)
Or at least: Give me a hint. 8)
