Some of you eagle-eyed posters will note that some of my challenges have been rather loose with the definition of "weekly". well sorry, but that's not about to change!

Don't forget the winner will be asked to post a tutorial to show how to acheive the effect they created, why they did, and what they might do better next time. We're going to get some detailed design decisions here people....art history books at the ready

here are some names to review if you like what they did here:

Good luck everyone!
Dan

My vote is for Maray. I really like the striking contrasts and the directional blurred glow.

Mine is for yours Dave because you went from nothing except an outline to a glowing metallic vision of loveliness. 8)

There were alot of really beautified Suzannes, but I went with Darth... as his example was really the only one that showed a solid practical usage with his DOF.

I really enjoyed the following Suzannes however...
Apollos - Terminator effect is just cool
Maray - Really pushed things to the extreme (Poor Suzanne though - RIP)
DaveC - Awesome example going from nothing to uber glowness
Penix - Alright, the eyes on Neon Suzanne is to die for

I agree Damascus. It was a hard choice. Every attempt, even those accidents like Neon Suzanne, are learning experiences worthy of a bookmark.

Great work one and all.... :D

I voted for Maray because the artistic aspects rose above the technical details. Nice work. :D

Not voting at the moment, but I'm wondering what happened to my name. I did submit an entry (the psychedelic Suzanne).

As for my vote, I'll have to go over the entries again, but I wouldn't vote for myself anyway (that's just wrong, afaiac).

Perhaps there is some logic to what Darth's been saying all along... keep the entry thread to ENTRIES ONLY... maybe have chatter re: the challenge elsewhere, or to show WIP's, or to ask for / receive help from others - perhaps breaking it down as follows...

Weekly Challenge #X - ENTRIES
Weekly Challenge #X - DISCUSSION
Weekly Challenge #X - VOTE

I'm actually kinda surprised that the Challenges are not in their own Forum Category to begin with...

Damascus, I was thinking the same thing. It's a good compromise to keep from limiting fun and discussion about challenges. We'll let Dan make the final call.

EDIT: I agree about the separate category too. I've actually been meaning to do this, but laziness and procrastination have gotten the better of me. I'll get around to it, maybe tomorrow. :P

penix1: thanks.

I voted for DaveC. Not just the drastic difference (all black to cool silver(?)), but the effect is kind of spooky. I like it :)

Walshlg, you have no choices but to accept my vote :D

Nice effects and beautiful colours... nothing less than what I expect to see from the winner's pic.

I would say "what's the slowdown slacker!" but then again I would be too afraid you would assign it to me when I did. So I never said that..... :P

[EDIT] HA! Just as I was posting this you go ahead and do it!

 LOL yeah my desire to get it over with overpowered my tendency to put-off indefinitely. I don't know what's wrong with me! :P
