This is my attempt at a set of FYI text for entry threads. Please leave feedback here: Challenge 17 Announcement Thread

Well here is my entry... a Ninja Star Throwing Apparatus Three pointed perfectly in balance. No UV Mapping done to it yet and has about 219 faces. Yes this one is all done... Well done according to the Challenges specs... I would have UV mapped and Texture by now but I'll hold off...

As always just click my thumbnail images to get a much larger look of my entry...

608 Bearing wireframe render start. I modelled this from the famous 608 bearing tutorial by Robert Burke at www.rab3d.com on April 2, 2008. I have removed all of my cheesy materials which are all wrong anyway.

[EDIT] I edited this to put it all in one message:

Here is where I'm at currently. Only thing left is the trimmings and displacement map for the dustcover writing.

That is my final entry for this challenge

But seriously.... I've reviewed all the entries. and For some reason I like Goliath's mega tank the best still so goo to my word, I cast my vote for me... Errr, I mean Goliath...

For me, it has to be Jason's skateboard. It's so simple and graceful and I feel it lends itself extremely well to the next part of the challenge.

I voted for Jason's skateboard for the same reasons Dave stated: simple elegance, in the spirit of the challenge. It's a terrific, minimal model, that doesn't suffer for it's lack of verts.

I loved Goliath's tank, and my mouse hovered over his name a few times before I voted. I would have been more influenced by seeing the mesh, I think.

I would also like to compliment Jason on his excellent deck texture. Although outside the scope of this week's challenge, it oozes coolness. 8)

I strongly considered the other entries, specifically Gnuren's helmet which also made good use of geometry.

OK, Its been now 20 minutes since I'm watching up and down this page... and I Truely cannot cast
my vote without the use of total favouritism...

-Gnuren, Making such a nice helmet would have been a terrible head hurt for me.... But you came
out with a nice looking mesh with an Unbelievably low amount of vertices...so much that it could
be a good model for a game... (BLEND PLZ HEHEHE)

-Apollos, as alway, you are using special modelling methods to show us how to keep our model
simple for witch know the trick... and way more complex for the ones who does not... Also, I look
at your mesh and, I've been working with subsurf since long time ago... but I don't think I could
achieve a mesh with that degree of perfection... unless not before breaking 2 or 3 keyboards...

-Penix1,
I'm totally destroyed by the details of your assembly. You know, I'm studying in a field that
these kinds of part should have no secrets for me... But just looking at your model increase my
knowledge about this

-Lyle, Your mask is terrific, I'm afraid I would not be able to make a that much realistic
mask.... Your skills to model organic or flexible thing is worth the look !

-Jason, PLEASE ! I want that awesome mesh for my next blender game PLEASE !

-Goliath, ..hey ... oups thats me hehehe.

-Bravo6, well, I you want my opinion, your mesh is as complex and nicely done as Apollo's one...
and I truly cannot vote for your mesh or Apollos's one without using of a extreme favouritism...
But, badly for you, Apollos added an extra feature witch, I think, Is worth of an extra "WOW".

-Maray, well, I'm sorry, I think I already used all the English words I know to show my
surprise... but you have to know that you did well to (Though you probably already know...)
This is a nice mesh.

SO, The only way to split my vote and give it fairly, is that blender random option,

...here is something that helped my vote a little, you can use it if you're still undecided :

http://goliath.e3b.org/Host/Who_Is_the_Winner.7z (Use this link if you don't have blender installed on your cpu)

http://goliath.e3b.org/Host/Who_Is_the_Winner.7z (Use this link if you've already installed blender on your cpu...witch mean you're on BU since more than 30 seconds....)

Using this technique, I'm sorry to say my vote goes to... wait, I forgot to hit space....

OK ,

My vote goes to ....

CONGRATULATION GNUREN !!

YOU GOT MY VOTE !!

PS: DAMMIT !! DONT VOTE FOR ME !!

ARRGHHH !! I DON'T WANT TO DO A TUTORIAL ON "HOW TO DO A MAMMOTH TANK DAMMIT ! ARGRGHHHH!
