This challenge is going to be in a series, doing different things with it weekly.

This week's challenge is for you to model a simple character (eg stick figure char). a face is not required but it would be cool for it to have for later. Like always be creative with this project.

Can't wait to see what you guys make

heh OK!

what are the rules, do we just model or texture also ?

anyways heres a quick one:

one stick-man ready for texturing and rigging + animating

low_poly (1k) and subsurfed versions.

I'd like to get a hang of some node based texturing for this guy. Maybe use a streched cloud texture as the bark bump map and then do some moss ect textures and bumps with nodes, might be fun to learn.

Looks like you are going for the Entish look lekonna. Looking good.

Starius, was that an attempt at sculpt mode? If so, it is better than what I get with that...lol.

Hoom! Hey now! Don't be hasty! :P
Though Isengard be strong and hard, as cold as stone and bare
      as bone,
We go, we go, we go to war, to hew the stone and break the door!
Sorry, I'm reading the book right now...

I don't know if you consider this cheating since I made this character for 6th. challenge.

In my defence i would like to point out that I spend some time tweaking the mesh since then :D

Anyway here he is:

Not cheating, Gnuren! It worked out perfectly! I don't think I'll have time to participate in this one, I'm busy with various tasks right now.

Seeing as everyone seems to be doing matchstick men, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. Here's my effort...

Image

A matchstick man. No face. Don't upset him. He's known to get a little hot-headed. He flares up at the slightest thing. I'll stop now.

It sure would give a use for the new particle system. I'd love to see flames for hair...

He has a striking similarity to other matches I've seen.
