Hello there. Im a bit of a blender noob. Having some trouble with this scene. For some reason the edges of some of my objects look weird, blurry and thick. This shot is frame 32 of 60, ambiant occlusion in on lvl 6. Picasa has automatically cleanup up the image a bit, but the chess piece and die both have visibly thick blurry edges. Anyone know what could be causing this? I've only seen it before messing with the motion blue button in render options. It is turned off though.

I think I'd need to examine the blend file on this one before I could offer an answer. It looks very very bright though.

Looks to me like depth-of-field blurring is set way too high: for that matter, distance blur should not really occur at all in such a close-up small scale image.
It's set for the camera as "Depth of Field" - here is the Wiki page if that helps:

What was it rendered in?
Internal?
LuxRender?
Cycles?
etc...

I also agree with Profnull

And what resolution was it rendered in?

Hello there thankyou for the replies. This image was rendered with the internal renderer@1280x1024 . As far as i know I have not enabled any depth of field effect, no nodes(cuz i dont know how to use them). I also rendered the same scene different frame without ray trace and ambiant occlusion with the same efect. I agree it looks like some kind of bad motion blur. How would i upload the blend file?

I took a look at your file and on the render settings I turned the compositing and sequencer back on in the post processing section of the render settings and this was the result I got.

I did the same, it didn't work.
spidey.joe80 are you useing Blender v2.49?

I have fixed it by appending everything into a new .blend, although i use 2.58a
I must also note that you would have to re-animate the camera.

Hey Rev, since Bogie can't replicate your results maybe you could post a copy of your fixed file?

Odd, it works on your file Reverend, but when i did it, it didn't work. Probably because of a different version, i don't know.

And that is why it worked for me and not you, my friend. ;)
