@ Dave thx for your cooperation. I'm now organizing the files.

no time limit at all. I even think that somebody can change his avatar if he wants (of course not every week  )

PS: I think I'm going to say a few things about the preferred structure how you should post your files. Coming soon.

I just had a thought, do you guys mind if I use my avatar considering originally the character is not mine ?
I was thinking of using it till I had a version of Tim the Knight I was happy with.

So far I've come up with this :

Image

but before I did anything more I wanted to check you were happy for me to use it and if you are then do you think it looks ok flat or should I make it 3D ? and give it a similar effect as used in 3d Dot Game Heroes ?

Image

suggestions would be grand :D

thanks

I think a 3D version would look much cooler, but you're free to put as much or as little work into it as you want! Thanks for participating; now if we could just get some of these other guys on board...

hi.
I want to tell you some things about the process thats going on here.

1.
I have updated the starting post now with a new image.
It shows our current stage of the project with the models of PNG_Pyro and DaveC.

2.
thanks to Apollos I could use a clear texture for the sign. There is still a questions I'd like to ask: Do you think, we should leave it completely flat? or should it give it at least a border?

3. I have created a new poll option for those who have already completed their part.

@Ashitaka
how are you doing? when you are finished with your model, please send it to me. Can't wait to see it :D

@all others
please help to fill this scene with your models or PNG will catch you. (and he has a flamethrower that can be very unhealthy :!: not to mention what I could do  )
ok we don't wanna hurt someone, but still, please join in soon.

we accept:
something from your signiture
    - something that has something of the signiture in it
    - something that you personally like the most
    - symbols you have created
    - actionfigures, (or *barbies* :? ) that look like you (or something you'd like to be).
    - an object, that represents your account in our common wallpaper.

the easiest way to send the file is probably the e-mail. My adress is visible, when you click on the little "msn" icon on my profile page.

Well, you can use my robot blends. the B2 is animated and grouped. Simply bring in the robot group. You may have to scale him down some though...

If you don't want the B2 robot, then here is Robby the Robot. He's not grouped:

thx penix.

I personally like robby the robot most. He looks great :D
I don't need the objects grouped together, because they will all end up in one mesh anyway, so that's fine with me.

reason2: I won't have about 200 objects in my complete file
reason3: I guess, if I link objects, grouped or not, I can't change any of its settings. (I can scale linked meshes, when I change the objects size. )

but I am a little surprised, that you don't send a worm or something similar :? :?:

Both those were from my Jupiter-2 project (which is STILL unfinished... :? ) but well worth it. I won't give up the bookworm though. He's my "trademark", so to speak, that I've used for years (not just here at BU). If you see him, rest assured you are talking to me.

Okay, I submitted my Blend file to PNG_Pyro as he was the one that Contacted me on this...

just incase...

http://www.4shared.com/file/201725860/5 ... -Icon.html

the location of that file...

It's packed with it's own textures I believe, so all you really have to do is scale it down to what ever size you need...

Went threw all my old models and found this. It was just a side item in the model in order to create source lights, but I think for this purpose it will work out grand. I made it my ava so that I can say it reps me.

I have updated the image in my first post.

if you want to change something about your model, like its position, size, lighting, material or something else, please tell me.

from now on I will post the updates in HD with a miniature, so that you could already save them on your machine.

ps: please don't ask me about the flames material, because ...
it is a texture.

Cool! You used Robby! Better yet, he's propping up the ninja star.
