hey guys, im sorta an amateur with blender but im starting a project that will require me to make a interactive (walk around nothing else) design of my school and im just wondering if any of you have done something like this before seeing as i haven't, ive got some idea of what i have to do but aren't fully prepared and wondering if any of you guys have maybe some basics steps to accomplishing this task.

Start by getting the layout of your school. Many times student handbooks include crude maps. Depending on how detailed you want to get, take photos of the walls for texture. Scan the map of your school into the PC and use that as a top down background view to make the model.

After that just make a simple IPO run the camera through the walk through of your school.

Hi bjmann, welcome to the Underground.

What are you able to do in Blender at the moment? Do you know how to model and texture?

Once you learn these and have a rough layout of the school made you could then learn how to make a basic FPS style game/interactive walk through of your school.

On http://www.blenderunderground.com you will find a link to Appollos awesome Blender tutorials which will be enough to get you started on making the model of your school.

brand new here and found your topics in a google search. I'm looking to do the same type thing, but with an interactive walkthrough of a medieval village, complete with shops you can walk into. these shops need to be interactive so that people can click on a product and actually be taken to our shopping cart

If it's gonna be a store kind of interactive application, you'd better use blender's web plugin for it's game engine.

I think it's called "Burster"
