Hey guys, I recently joined CGSociety's forums. These forums aren't software specific or even limited to 3D, you can learn a lot about art in general. However, they got a separate blender-section where I found this great rig. The rig is plain awesome, it's done by a pro. It has got a face rig and also FK/IK-switches and also some things I don't really understand. You might take a look at it, I think we can all learn from that.

Thanks, Prometheus, I also got copies of his intro to using the rig and some other rigs too. I've been on the CGS site too, I find it almost intimidating: so much great art in one place !

Yeah, I know. But the thing about the site is that you meet the most talented people of the CG industry and learn a lot about art and techniques, not Blender-only but in general. Sure, I feel awfully small in comparison to those talented and successful people. But it's nice to see that they are only common people, too, that they started out small, too, and how they ended up being so awesome :D

By the way, it's good to see how many of them use blender, and that blender is well respected and not the cheap alternative.

Wooot! Another Stargate-fan! It's been the first Sci-Fi-series I ever saw and one of the main reasons I started using Blender (spaceships and explosions, futuristic tech,...). I think one can see how this influenced my choice of projects

Yup, SG-1 was one of my faves too. SG Atlantis didn't work for me but SG Universe is coming along okay at the moment. Down here in Oz we are getting series 2 of it. I really hope it's going somewhere . . . . .

I'm not sure whether it's just me expecting more from the creators or the product getting crappier: have I just been spoilt by a few really well made shows (e.g. BSG, SG1) so that all else looks 'orrible?
. . . Or is this really a symptom of the fall of the western civilisation and the dumbing down of humanity caused by everyone spending all their time playing mindless games on their iPhones and PCs ?
