Watch the matrix.. and every time you hear "Agent" yell out "The Man!"... soon you will get a clearer understanding.. that or weird looks from your family/roomate/dog/fish who ever.

Out of my cortex, Dave!!! I'm quite happy in my little fantasy world, thank you!!! Reality is subjective anyway...except I still look before crossing the street.

Those were not sequels.. Those were illustrating an alternate timeline and the real story has yet to be told beyond the original Matrix. The so-called 'sequels' that you are referring to are nothing more than propaganda spoon fed to the masses a la carte thanks to 'The Man'.
