Hello everyone!
I am new to Blender and I am looking for an animation tutorial.

A few friends and I are thinking of making a game eventually, models would be made
by one friend in Blender, sent to me for rigging and animation, then exported and
imported into Unity3d for programming by a third member.

I have looked all around for a good, thorough animation tutorial and have come up
with few animation tutorials at all, much less a good, thorough one!

Any help in this field would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
-WolfShield

Might try this and this. They're for 2.4 but they're good nonetheless.

Thanks!!!
I'm already half way through the first tutorial!

I'm wondering, does he have any more than the two out
yet? I have a feeling I will burn through these faster than
a rabbit that just spotted a rattlesnake!

Thanks again!

Just to chime in here, check out the free BVH files offered by Carnegie Mellon University. This library is a huge collection of animations easy to import into Blender.

Careful with those BVH files. They aren't timed properly for Blender. Evol I think has made a script that fixes that. Search the boards for it. (unless he wants to post it again here... 8) :lol: )

Yes, basically I found out that the timing of the BVH is about 4 times slower than normal for Blender. So I made 2 pieces of software to fix this. One is a new Blender plugin script that asks for frame skipping. I set mine to skip 3 frames and it speeds up the movement about right. The other is an external program that will transform the BVH itself and can handle batch files.

Here are the newest links to those files:

BVH Edit for Windows

BVH Script for Blender

That's my biggest problem with free host sites they keep deleting my crap.

I downloaded these and re-uploaded them to my space here on the BU servers. If you need to point to them anywhere else simply use the same links. I edited your post to reflect the new location. They won't go anywhere as long as BU is up.... :D

I use mediafire, who won't delete you're files; if they're tired of you, they'll send you three emails, and if t hey get no response, delete your whole account. It's all or nothing, but I've never had a problem with it.

Thanks penix1, once in a while I also run through my old tuts and fix links in there too.

@PNG_pyro: I was using filefront about a year or 2 ago they announced closer of the website. Then they got snatched up by some other outfit. But now the new owners keep changing the rules. Filefront recently became gamefront. So all my links that read;

Code:
www.filefront.com/user/toonskull
-changed to-
www.gamefront.com/files/user/toonskull

They also keep track of how many different people are downloading your files each week such as;
Code:
File Name                  Date Added     Downloads     File Size      Popularity
nick_fury_blender.zip   01-16-2010          3            2072.79 KB       0%

If the "popularity" remains 0% for a month the file gets deleted without warning.

As a result of the site's wishy-washy nature I have placed a lot of my files to File Den as direct download links so people don't even leave the Blender Underground forum. I plan to drop the gamefront all together. The only reason I don't use mediafire is the mandatory wait time trying to encourage downloaders to pay for an faster speed. But thank you for the options.

If you run into that problem again then PM me and I'll upload it to BU main. No need to go through heck just for a simple file. I even have the total CM BVH files stored on BU in one MASSIVE archive so I really do have the space.
