This is gonna be one of the dumber question you've heard in a while. How do I render/whatever a picture or video so its a mov/mpeg/png/gif/etc file?

Believe it or not, i've spent at least 1 hour searching the web, and pressing random buttons on blender in vain :(

Call me stupid if you want >_> just answer the question. Please and thanks...

EDIT -- moved this to a more appropriate category -- Noobieton

Open blender,

press "F12 key"

...for more complex setups,

Take a look at the huge render's menu (F10 key)

And remember,

there's no stupid questions

ps: lol noob....

Ok, well when you have the picture rendered, you can save it by pressing "F3 key"

....but if you're making a video, I suggest you to choose another output setup
and then smash the big "Anim" button :

I could explain you a more complex setup....

...But I have to catch the metro + bus

..so good luck & have a nice day =)

welcome to the forums.

Questions aren't stupid they are why we are all together here holding hands and singing! Every question asked is likely something that 20 other people have wondered about and been too shy to ask.

if you want to change the picture format, then use the little dropdown box which goliath has kindly pointed his red arrow at.. there will be options for PNG, JPG, BMP, etc... for all of those...

and its not that noobier a question.. i only found out about file formats and saving rendered images the other week.. and ive been using Blender for months.. almost about 7 now... :) :D
