don't be shy to post idea, one week before each new challenge,
il reset the vote list of this topic so you can vote on the subjects
discussed during the month.

so then we can be sure to post a challenge quite similar with what you'd love to fight on.

that's way to restrictive for me,

(moslty because I hate both of these themes :P )

but if there's no betters idea, I would not be
against an animated character challenge.
(But don't expect anything too complex from me :P )

How about a short game level, using BGE.

OR

Another BU game project

Thats a great idea. We have someone come up with a game engine, with just a simple character, and then we make levels, and we get votes for level design.

What if, prior to the challenge, using the BGE to keep things simple, there could be an BU open project for the creation of the framework, managed by someone with good knowledge of the BGE.
(Maybe Goliath).

Then the framework is put up for download along with the character - animated etc, and possibly a simple enemy AI. BUt it all depends on the theme of the game.

Finally, the better levels could be selected, modified etc, and arranged to form a starting point for a really really realy cool Game.

Oh yeah, and I never said it would be bad, it would probably work out well, but if your prepared to sort out the animation/combat system...
Be my guest...

Would make a neat game if we could pull it off though. But on hamsters point, I am assuming the gameplay would be similar to Ninja Gaiden Sigma or possibly like something from the dynasty/samurai warriors series???

well idk for the games you seem to be talking about,
but my vision of a ninja game would surely kick ass

but yea,
would be a pain using old methods of animating,
...and I fera there's not much new methods avaiables under 50 000$

so yea, what you propose instead ?

Maybe a medieval rpg, but that depends on python skills (which I have on some level) but more importantly, knowledge of how to program in Blender (I have not learnt that yet). Do you know python, and if so, do you think it would be achievable.

But the RPG, standard sorta thing 3rd person, interchangable weapons, shield armour, magic, bows 'n' arrows, typical stuff. Sort out a simple storyline/backstory, basic engine, and then it's ready for the challenge.
