Im Shane c.

So far I'm on tutorail #2. I found a different set of tuts months ago, when I first started Blender. Well, I made a few mistakes when first starting Blender with those vids. Those didn't care to explain anything. Well Underground tuts has explained Blender in a way that Im learning better. I'm very technical but very stylish/realistic in my artwork. I'm now trying to draw (pencil) again along side learning Blender the proper way.

I'm also looking for a strong and dedicated forum for Blender, Animation, Particals, compositing. I also have Photoshop CS3 I'm trying to pick up. My plan is to do a 2 min short, like a movie preview (with voice and music) to help promote my book I'm writing, but just not for my own needs. I want to promote Blender and the individual artist or groups not corrupted by big business. And let us prove that entertainment has a soul and a meaning, showing big biz that it's not all about the cash, its about the human/mortal condition.......................

Can Blender do this, The short will have a space combat battle, energy sheilds, phaser fire, those interaction with eachother, haul demage, parts of the haul breaking up,explosions, human characters and non-human ones, cities, a dragon, a shapeshifter, A planet being blown up, warp speed, motion blur's, superspeed(like Superman or The Flash). My short and book would be something like: Doctor Who-Star Trek-Kung Fu meets Super Hero's....

In the future I would like to create a groupe to help me with this short, promote Blender and to promote an ethical moral conduct for the entertainment industry and having fun while doing it. I miss the old Star Trek (the original and next Generation), it had a cause not greed. How will our future look when cash is the goal and not the soul?

thanks,
shane c.

Welcome to Blenderunderground. Ya I learned more from Apollos tutorials than any other ones on the net myself. It would have saved me alot
of time if I had those at the beginning. I find this forum better than Blenderartists. People here are more helpful and are not snobby. We both
may be in the same boat ... we may have to learn from scratch the new Blender 2.5? I hope there isn't too many hotkey changes after learning so many now. I'm still a Noob (or Newb) myself but I wish you the best in your projects anyways.

I've seen CGCookie has some 2.5 vid's on the changes / updates... but I guess we'll see how it goes.
I don't think the hotkeys themselves will change overly TOO much, more so menu layouts / positioning (just my hope at least).

Welcome Knightsilver.
Glad you found us. :D

"How will our future look when cash is the goal and not the soul?" -
Yup, that's what made me a trekkie originally. My only complaint is that there aren't any new ones and I've seen them all at least twice.
I prefer to create and let the results speak for themselves: if it really is good, and someone wants to buy it, then I don't mind. 8)

We got any Blender compositors in here?
