 Post subject: [User Prefs] Automatic "Auto Depth" & "Rotate Around Sel"

It would be nice to be able to automatically switch between "Auto Depth" and "Rotate Around Selection" when switching between "Object Mode" and "Edit Mode". I prefer the former when in "Object Mode" to be able to rotate around various parts of a figure as opposed to automatically choosing the object origin as a pivot point. In "Edit Mode", I prefer the pivot point to be the selected vertice(s). Auto depth does not work well in "Wireframe" when in "Edit Mode" unless you precisely hit a vertex.

Perhaps this has already been implemented as a Python script and can be mapped to a key somehow. I looked around, but I cannot find any reference to such a command.
