I searched for a - Sketchup tree

In Sketchup I made an island with the - Follow me - tool. And used a material for the island. I exploded everyting in Sketchup.
And then File > Export as a .kmz-file version 4.

And then followed the tutorial - From SketchUp to Blender.

In Blender deleted the Sketchup camera.
Painted the plane in - tobor01.blend - blue as water.

Animated TOBOR:


And the result:

Nice I'll check this out. Good job. That SketchUp to Blender link is for 2.49(I think). Does that work the same for 2.5? forget if 2.5 has Collada 1.4 in it.

Incase you don't know there's a sweet curve to tree for making trees http://www.blenderguru.com/how-to-create-stunning-trees/. Its for 2.49 though. What I did was make it in 2.49 and then saved it and imported the tree into 2.5

Just thought I'de mention that if wanted a realistic tree)s). not sure it makes palm trees though lol.

QuickTime is teh (spelling is correct) evilest thing out there. VLC can play QuickTime just fine.

Put it in either General Discussion or works in Progress if you have something going. Personally, I don't do cartoon characters too often. Can't get the shaders right for my liking.

Hopefully there are some understanding Blender is also sound - making cartoons with sound.

I am happy you find this project and Blender interesting enough to do tutorials. I just wish you would organize them in a way that doesn't require all the links in one webpage. You may discuss this project all you want. I just want the link farming cut down is all. From an outsider's point of view, it looks like you are trying to use them to gain a ranking in Google. I don't think that is what you are doing but posting a link with every post seems suspicious.

As to making a topic solely for this, that isn't going to happen. There isn't enough interest in it to justify a separate topic line. As I said, you may discuss it here to your heart's content.
