I got it, and it is good folks, there are lots of updates and fixes . . . . .

. . . . . but for me, they still haven't fixed the Knife tool.
Here's an example of what I mean:
Image
This shape needs to be cut on a diagonal. The profile is an oval so just rotating the face will not work neatly. (I could do it with a rotate and a scale but what if the shape is not so nice and parallel (e.g. a compound curved shape) ?
You can easily do it in 2.49 and even string the cut in a straight line between two of the verts like so:

The red line is the cut line.

One issue i have is that i cant seem to find any sort of way to bevel my selected edges with out having to apply a bevel modifier over the entire model. any one know what i can do for this?

Not all my edges need beveling...

That is one reason I am sticking with my 2.49 but I have made you a 3RD party software fix for this issue.

Download Link

This can be placed inside the folder that contains Blender.exe and will lauch the Blender then Shift+K will mark the first point and left click the second point. Just like the 2.49 version. :)

Note: This program is unaware of what "mode" Blender is using and you need to exit manually from the system tray.
