If you need to get a picture of your work in edit-mode or wireframe-mode and etc. Just press the "Render 3D Viewport" button.

Holding CTRL and clicking this button renders an animated preview. Using CTRL+F11 previews the rendered animation.

This is great for real-speed previews of animations, when viewport rendering is slow, and you don't want to wait for an actual render.

And in edit mode it is great for posting your mesh to the forums here when things go wrong or to show a mesh technique.
